Are you tired of waiting for your blue cart? You're not alone. Alderman Tom Allen, of the Thirty-eighth Ward is getting impatient, too, along with many of his colleagues on the Chicago City Council. Allen has introduced an order to the administration to finish what it started almost three years ago—the blue cart recycling program. Now, the Chicago Recycling Coalition is issuing a call to action, not only to support this crucial order, but to revitalize the entire city's commitment to recycling. . . . more

Living in the Recycling Desert
Can Chicago join the rest of the civilized world in acknowledging that recycling is a basic city service?
On Monday, June 7th, 2010, Alderman Tom Allen introduced an order to the Chicago City Council that would demand that the city fulfill its promise to provide blue cart recycling to all its citizens. CRC president Mike Nowak testified at this (possibly) landmark meeting. You can read press reports to the left.
